What is mobile steam?
Our Mobile STEAM Lab brings hands-on, curriculum-connected STEAM learning directly to YOU! Turning everyday learning into engaging, project-based experiences!
-
The In-School Mobile STEAM Lab partners with teachers to bring project-based, creative problem-solving activities into the classroom, tailored to align with current curriculum goals. Students engage in the full engineering design process (ideating, iterating, and building practical solutions to real challenges) through activities such as robotics, coding, circuitry, animation, and maker builds. Rather than focusing on a single "right answer," our Lab values the process of exploration and design, helping students build 21st-century skills, creative confidence, and a genuine excitement for STEAM.
Example offering:
10 Weekly sessions
1-1.5 hour long
Customizable to your school schedule
-
The Afterschool Mobile STEAM Lab offers a generalized, project-based STEAM experience that brings students together across grade levels to build, create, and problem-solve as a community. Through activities like robotics, animation, engineering design challenges, circuitry, and coding, students explore ideation and iterative design in an open-ended environment where the creative process matters as much as the outcome. Along the way, students build communication skills, empathy, and confidence while developing a lasting excitement for STEAM.
Example offering:
10 Weekly sessions
~1.5 hour long
Customizable to your afterschool programming

Our Off-Site STEAM Camp brings the Mobile STEAM Lab experience to your site for a full week of immersive, hands-on learning. Designed to spark a broad interest in STEAM, campers explore a variety of topics (including coding, animation, robotics, and more!) through project-based activities that emphasize ideation, iterative design, and creative problem-solving. All curriculum and materials are provided by WMSI and led by our professional instructors, so your community gets a turnkey camp experience without the programming logistics. Like our Mobile STEAM Lab programs, the week is built around open-ended exploration, giving campers the time and space to dive deep, build confidence, and develop 21st-century skills alongside their peers.
Example offering:
Monday - Friday
9am - 2pm
Camper to Instructor Ratio – 16:2
Customizable to your location

The Family Engagement Event invites families of students of all ages to work side by side on a single, hands-on STEAM project, turning learning into a shared family experience. Rather than separating by age or grade, the event brings parents, siblings, and caregivers together around one collaborative build, fostering communication, teamwork, and pride in a shared accomplishment. It's a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with each other and with their school community, while getting a firsthand look at the same ideation and creative problem-solving process students engage with in our STEAM Lab programs.
Example offering:
5pm – School provides a dinner option
5:30-7p – Program Time
Can accommodate up to 30 families

The Science Residency brings a full week of hands-on, project-based STEAM learning into your school, engaging students across all grade levels in a shared, ongoing project. Throughout the week, students move through the process of ideation, iterative design, and hands-on problem-solving, building momentum each day toward a culminating showcase where they present their work to the school community. It's a high-impact, short-timeframe program that gives students a taste of real engineering and design practice, while creating a memorable, schoolwide moment of pride and celebration.
Example offerings:
Every grade level is visited, and works on a similar (but developmentally appropriate) project such as…
Robotics Carnival
Game Design
Chain Reaction Machines
